The Elemental School of Drama started on 1st April 2010.
We have school in our name as we are closely linked with the Northern Ireland Curriculum:-
Drama is now a very important element in the Northern Ireland Curriculum
It is one of the main components under the section called: -
THE ARTS
Children's creative, expressive and physical development is closely linked with all aspects of their learning. They should be given opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of art and design, music, movement, dance, dramatic and role-play activities. Through taking part in a range of well-planned activities, children's fine and gross motor skills will develop, they will gain confidence in what they can do and this will help build their self-esteem.
What will Drama do for your child if they join
The Elemental School of Drama?
It will:-
Help them to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings
Develop their creativity through imaginative play
Engage them in dramatic play to extend their learning
Encourage them to take part in a range of drama games and strategies
Widen their vocabulary and encourage correct speech and communication
